MHART

MHART (Medicine Hat and Area Refugee Team) was formed in the fall of 2015 in response to the urgent refugee crisis that was developing in Syria.

The people of Victory Lutheran approved a partnership with Presbyterian, Baptist and Evangelical churches in the city to sponsor a Syrian family. In June of 2016, thanks to the overwhelming generosity and tireless work of many, many people, we welcomed the al Mansour family to Medicine Hat.

MHART helped arrange housing, translators, made school connections, and help with the endless paperwork that such a large move requires, and in the process, we made nine new friends.

We continue to work with newcomer families to help them adjust to a new life in Canada. In this work, we are reminded that we have much to learn from one another about the world we live in.

Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) 8pm | Tuesday evenings Fellowship Hall

We have a fellowship of men and women who have lost the control of their drinking habits. We share our experiences, strengths and hopes so that we may, with God’s help, make a meaningful contribution to society once again.
Affiliated locally and internationally with over 3,000,000 registered members around the world, with 300 12 Step Programs available to help the suffering from this addiction.

Al-Anon 1:30pm Monday & Tuesday afternoons | 11am Saturday mornings Christian Education Room
All are welcome to get together to support and encourage families and friends of alcoholics.

COIN & STAMP CLUB 7PM | every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month
The Medicine Hat Coin & Stamp Club has been around the city since the 1960’s. Our club presently has 40 adult members, and 11 junior members. We would like to be known for informing the public of what their coin and stamp collections are worth as well as becoming educated on coins and stamps. We also have a junior club for kids.

TEDDY BEAR CLUB 1:30PM | We meet the first Monday of every month (except July, August and September)
We make hand sewn bears of fine materials with glass eyes and fully jointed limbs.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)
TOPS was established in 1948 to Champaign weight loss support and success. There are two groups meeting at Victory, in the Kidz Zone each week.
Monday group 5:15 – 5:55pm – weigh-in followed by a 45 min to 1 hour meeting
TOPS does not offer special diets. Come out for great support. Everyone Welcome!
